Homemade Dry Skin Recipes

If you’re looking for the best moisturizer for dry itchy skin rash, then you need to make sure it’s free from chemicals, additives, preservatives, and cheap mineral oils. That’s what you would usually find in those inexpensive, drug-store type moisturizers. Why should you avoid these ingredients? Because these additives and oils can upset the natural pH balance of your skin. For healthy skin, the pH should be within the range of 4.2 to 6.5. A pH outside this range will upset the acid mantel. The acid mantel is very important to protect the skin from environmental factors like bacteria and skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis.

The basic purpose of a moisturizer is to trap water on the skin hydrate it. In addition to keeping the skin supple the best moisturizer should also prevent dry skin conditions from progressing to something worse like eczema or an infected dry itchy skin rash. If you have dry skin or skin problems, it’s important to start taking care of your skin right away.

So what are one of the best home remedies for dry skin? Try a weekly egg yolk and honey mask. This mask feels incredible and skin will be so soft after you rinse. Here is how you make it:

- whisk 2 egg yolks then add 1 tablespoon of honey and mix well.
- massage the mixture all over the face and neck and leave on for 25 minutes.
- this might drip, so you may want to lie and just rest for a while until it starts to dry.
- then rinse well and apply a good facial moisturizer for dry skin.

Another great and simple homemade dry skin recipe includes massaging warm olive oil at night right after you’ve washed your face. This can be a bit greasy, so it’s best done at nighttime.

So what about the daytime? Obviously, you can’t walk around with egg yolk and honey or olive oil on you face during the day. For very dry skin I recommend a moisturizer that provides continuous hydration. I use one that’s water-proof and rub-proof. My favorite moisturizer has a potent delivery system so it penetrates the skin deeply for optimum results. It uses a lyphazome technology which is excellent for hydrating dry parched skin.

What are Lyphazome? They are natural nanospheres which are only 1/50th the size of human skin cells, so they can penetrate the epidermis deeply, delivering ingredients deep into the skin layers, where it is most effective. Also, nanospheres are highly concentrated so they can deliver at least 80% of the bioactive- and moisture-loaded ingredient into the skin.
